Lined with gilt edges and secured with a gold clasp, a bracelet by the Amsterdam-based duo of Lyske Gais and Lia Duinker packs a large art historical selection inside the span of a wrist. The pair created a wearable catalog back again in 2015 that binds 1,400 pages into a thick e book. Its contents incorporate black-and-white hand illustrations from 303 of Rembrandt’s etchings and drawings, issue subject inspired by its availability in Rijksmuseum’s digital archive. “We liked that it would be some thing you could wear, have your very own assortment with you,” they convey to Colossal.

Titled “Rembrandt’s Fingers and a Lion’s Paw,” the reserve bracelet employs brocheersteek, a process of classic cross-stitching, and just about every page is titled and numbered. An additional index will help navigate the hundreds of illustrations held inside the leather-based handles.

Cooper Hewitt acquired the authentic perform, which also gained the Rijksmuseum’s 2015 Rijksstudio Award, and Gais and Duinker followed the design and style with a necklace in a very similar fashion that attributes Rembrandt’s pet dogs. There are a couple of the first 10 minimal-edition bracelets out there on the pair’s internet site. (via Women’s Artwork)
