Ireland’s most eligible bachelor Marty Morrissey will have the honour of bestowing a one of a kind title to one lucky lady in what is the most unique prize ever for a racing style competition in Ireland.
The prize will be bestowed by Irish sports commentator Marty, who will be joined by presenter Sinead Kennedy in choosing the Barberstown Castle most stylish lady at the Curragh Racecourse on Juddmonte Irish Oaks Day on July 16th.
Barberstown Castle Hotel, one of the oldest inhabited castles in Ireland has come onboard with Ireland’s premier flat racecourse as sponsor of the novel Lady of the Curragh Contest, which will debut at the Juddmonte Irish Oaks Festival and includes the Lady Title for Life, helicopter ride, a luxury stay and gifts.
“This is a Maiden Run for the Barberstown Castle Lady of The Curragh Contest, so we are thrilled to host and be associated with this auspicious event,” said Barberstown Castle’s Amanda Torrens. “It will be a flamboyant and fabulous social occasion. Barberstown Castle has been at the heart of the horse racing and horse sale industries in Kildare Ireland since 1288. During their enduring history, there has been a steadfast interconnection between Barberstown Castle and all equestrian pursuits in the province.”
The prizes for this fantastic contest include four tickets to The Goffs Millions at The Curragh Racecourse next September, bespoke millinery by Julie Kenny Designs, styling by Headds Up Threads and a year’s membership to the racecourse. A luxury stay at Barberstown Castle, helicopter ride, Tipperary Crystal hamper and magnum of Taittinger Champagne is included in among the full prize package.
