Tim Allen‘s return to a earlier character was not what he envisioned. ET’s Lauren Zima spoke with Allen and his “Last Male Standing” co-star, Nancy Travis, forward of the ninth and closing season premiere of their Fox sitcom.
In the course of the chat, Allen opened up about taking part in both his present-day role and a previous function — Tim Taylor of “Home Improvement” — on an forthcoming episode of “Last Man Standing”, an experience the 67-yr-previous actor called “weird, creepy… [and] uncommon.”

Even though Allen was restricted-lipped about the particulars of his dual purpose, he did give lovers a hint of what to count on when “Last Gentleman Standing” returns for its ninth and final season.
