The Countrywide Instruction Association (NEA) and the American Federation of Instructors (AFT) unveiled a letter resolved to Household Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) imploring him to take out Greene from the Education Committee, declaring she lacked the “judgment, empathy or wisdom” to have obligation around studying environments.

“On behalf of the nation’s two major teachers’ businesses, representing additional than 4 million educators nationwide, we request that you right away rescind the appointment of Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) to serve on the House Committee on Schooling and Labor,” the statement reads.

“Conspiracy theories do not belong in our educational institutions. Detest, racism and anti-Semitism do not belong in our educational facilities. Bullying and harassment do not belong in our faculties,” the letter carries on. “Greene has trafficked in all of these heinous routines. She has as a result disqualified herself from serving on the committee that plays a critical role in the instructing and finding out of America’s kids and in guaranteeing their secure studying environments.”

The letter produced take note of a online video that surfaced past week exhibiting Greene harassing David Hogg, survivor of the 2018 Marjory Stoneman Douglas Large University taking pictures that killed 17 folks. Democratic congress users have named for Greene to be taken out from all committees, censured or expelled.
