Animal Treatment Expert services is investigating the report of a tiger cub within just San Antonio town limitations.
In accordance to the San Antonio Police Office, a resident in the 8600 block of Elk Runner called 311, the city’s non-unexpected emergency cell phone amount, to report a tiger cub on the unfastened. The caller mentioned she saw the animal walking about her yard.
When police and ACS officers arrived at the scene, the tiger had remaining. Browsing the place, officers identified a resident who explained he had recovered the tiger and experienced returned it to its proprietor. The resident, whose name was not launched, stated he experienced borrowed the cub to clearly show his family members and it had jumped his back fence into the neighbor’s yard.
Police reported the resident told them the cub proprietor had other tigers.
ACS spokeswoman Lisa Norwood stated ACS officers are investigating it’s unlawful to have a tiger inside of city limits.
Metropolis ordinance prohibits tigers, lions, bears and other huge predators at private residences. The prohibited listing also contains crocodiles, raccoons and skunks, amongst other individuals.
“All of these items are illegal to possess or to house in the town of San Antonio,” Norwood explained. “Chapter 5 is quite very clear about the prohibition of individuals styles of animals.”
